Channel 4 Horse Tracker
Horse Tracker is a groundbreaking #1 free app for Channel 4 and The Grand National. The concept behind the app was to deliver an unprecedented level of detail regarding the race directly from the track to the viewers’ devices, giving them a view of all horses at the UK’s biggest racing event. I was the lead designer for the app, ensuring it remained consistent with Channel 4’s guidelines.
The app was developed natively for iOS to deliver maximum functionality, with a responsive HTML5 alternative for other platforms. Horse Tracker gives racing fans access to a range of live, granular data on any of the runners, including position, speed and acceleration, distance left to run, distance to the leader, and fences left to jump.
